Paddleboarding

For many, paddle boarding is a mellow alternative to kayaking. With paddleboard rentals available on site, it’s the most accessible way to experience the open water at Taku.

Biking

With bike rentals available on-site, choose from mountain, tandem, electric and kids bikes to traverse and experience Quadra Island’s biking trails.

Weddings

Imagine a magnificent seaside ceremony followed by an extraordinary reception.
With all your guest’s accommodations right on-site, our wedding venue makes planning your special day that much easier.

Cortes Island

From Taku the ferry terminal at Heriot Bay is just a quick stroll away. Island hop from Quadra over to Cortes Island for scenic views of Desolation Sound and to discover another island community.

Farm to Table

Farm to Table is the harvesting of local produce for the purpose of cooking it within a short time frame. With a garden located on the resort and a community garden a short drive away, we are privileged and proud of our ability to utilize Farm to Table practices in all our cookery offerings.

Climbing

For experienced climbers, the rock faces of Quadra Island offer your next conquest. From the bluffs of the Chinese Mountains to Morte Lake, with even more opportunities available on nearby Discovery Islands, Taku offers a comfortable place to rest your head between ascents.

Desolation Sound

Within the channels and straits of Desolation Sound, the island archipelagos are both isolating and breaktaking in their pristine natural beauty. From Taku, you can either enjoy the view from your room or explore the waters of Desolation Sound by boat.

Cookery

Our culinary courses provide rare opportunities to get to know great chefs through a blend of intimate personal instruction and dialogue. Our modern home-style kitchen is designed to make guests feel like they are cooking with their entire family

Sports

We offer a variety of sports across the resort with all necessary equipment available at the main office. Enjoy a game of volleyball, bocce, tennis, horseshoes or basketball while surrounded by tall conifers.

Sailing

Drew Harbour is a popular destination for sailors looking to take refuge from rough waters. The extension of Rebecca Spit into the harbour makes for calm waters and a great place to moor for those reaching Taku from the sea. For experienced guests, we offer access to rental sailboats at our marina.
